Always annoyed, when you turn on your Mac in a quiet place, and you hear that startup sound…? For a while, it was nice to hear, but when you are in a situation where things must be quiet, you may get embarassed. There are tools and scripts out there one can use to disable the sound when you restart, but it sometimes requires installation and configuration.
The best way around this is to mute your sound with “F10”. This will disable (Put a diagonal slash through the sound) the sound and when you reboot your Mac, there won’t be any sound. Just keep in mind you always have to do this when you don’t want to have the sound be heard.
