Mac OS X – Screen Record Tool

Since I’ve gotten my first Apple Macbook, I wondered what would be a great screen recording tool. Usually, on Windows I used Camtasia Studio which I liked to use for recording. However, I don’t believe it is suppored on the Mac. Therefore, I recently found out that Quicktime on the Mac has a couple of options to screen record. For me, it does the job, and it was very simple to use.

In your Application folder, you can start “Quicktime Player” and form there, do the following:

1) File
2) New Screen Recording
3) Past the record button, there is a drop down tick if you want to enable audio or not
4) Click the record button
5) A text display will present the user whether to record in full screen, or drag to record a section
6) After that, you’re recording! When you stop the recording, you can then export/save it to a file
